Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard announced back in June that they were expecting their second child, and now that child is here! It’s a baby girl, she’s happy and healthy and she’s got another somewhat unconventional name. While the couple’s oldest child is named Lincoln, the newest addition to the family is going by… Delta Belle. A bit strange, a bit overly Civil War (especially when you consider Lincoln’s name), but I kinda like it.
Both the happy parents announced Delta’s arrival on Twitter, as you do:
Delta Bell Shepard is here. She doesn't look like either @IMKristenBell or me, but we're gonna keep her anyway. #christmascameearly

Happy for them – I do think they’re pretty adorable together, so this is cute news all around. Congrats!
Hi, her name is Delta Bell–no E. It is her mother’s maiden name. That said–I find Lincoln an odd choice for a little girl (or woman even as one day Miss Lincoln will be!). But the trend seems to be boyish names for little girls (Wyatt anyone?!). I love how Mom’s maiden name makes an outstanding middle name–had my parents gone that route I would have a long, hard to say German name! Delta is not currently ranked in the US, but with the “old” names coming back and celebrities using it (Ava anyone?!) it may yet.
Like Delta Burke, woo hoo!! Designing Women FTW!! Wait, what was the question?
