It was only a few months ago when Solange unleashed a can of whoop ass upon Jay-Z in a New York City elevator after the Met Ball for… whatever reason. While the Knowles-Carter family released a collaborative statement insisting that they were all still on good terms following the incident, Solange has finally spoken out about it for the first time in a new interview with Lucky.
It’s a subject she expects in conversation but one she doesn’t want to focus on. She calls the incident “that thing.” “What’s important is that my family and I are all good,” she says. “What we had to say collectively was in the statement that we put out, and we all feel at peace with that.”
She is happy to discuss the values her parents taught both of their daughters: hard work along with unconditional love and support for each other. “We’ve always held each other down no matter what,” she says. “That’s something I’m drilling into Julez now.”
LOL at “that thing”. How flippant! This whole thing is done and over with (or is it?!) so I can see why she’d be over talking about it, but it’s bound to happen when you start beating your brother-in-law’s ass.
