Halle Berry is filthy rich, so paying $16,000 a month for child support is kinda like spending $1 on the daily paper for her. Good thing, because a California judge ruled that she’ll need to do that until her daughter Nahla, who she had with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry, turns 19 or graduates high school – whichever comes first.
From People:
A Los Angeles court on May 30 ordered the Oscar-winning actress to pay $16,000 per month to support their daughter Nahla, 6, until she turns 19 years old or graduates from high school, whichever comes first. The court also awarded Aubry $115,000 in retroactive support.
The couple share equal custody of their daughter, according to court documents.
I mean, look – I get that these rates are determined by how much you make, but in what universe can you even possibly spend $16,000 on a child every month? Especially considering Aubry doesn’t even have Nahla full-time, and presumably will only be with her for two weeks (if their custody is equal)??? It’s disgusting, really – it’s like she’s paying to support Aubry and the lifestyle he’s accustomed to rather than doing anything in the best interest of the kid. Now, if he wants to put $10,000 of that per month away in a trust fund for Nahla, that’s something different, but something tells me this is just going to be money to let him live a life of luxury and never have to work. Ugh, Halle better hope things don’t go south with baby #2.
