Ha ha, you guys, I decided at like 1 am last night to try to secure my wireless network. I like to keep it unsecured, just to repay the universe for all the Internet connections I’ve stolen over the course of my lifetime, but strange things were happening with it and I decided it was best if I secured it. So I secured it with a WAP key, not knowing that the actual key I gave it was not going to be my password, because there’s some strange formula that converts it to a hexadecimal code and THAT’S your password, etc, etc, etc. Long story short: I locked myself out of my own Internet connection and was up until 4 am trying to figure out how to get back in.
I crack myself up.
So I just woke up to learn that absolutely nothing is going on today. So I’m going to try to find some fun pictures for you guys.
i think the new cheetah girls movie where they’re in india comes out today on disney channel. have fun talking about THAT. :D
oh, and michael phelps is moving into this 1.3 million dollar condo when he gets back from the olympics! theres tons of room for all the sex you guys are going to do. (;

go to hell
Hmm, sounds like you were trying to use wep security. Try wpa, its much easier to set up, more secure, and just all around more stable. Whatever you type in as a password is the password it uses, no funky hexadecimal code.
Who?
thats awesome! hahahahhaa
good for you to have secured it.
i don’t know if it’s the same in seattle, but when you’re operating an unsecured wlan in germany and a third party uses it to do illegal stuff (mostly copyright infringements, like uploading copyright protected files on filesharing systems etc.) you’re the one who’s held responsible.
which really can suck… the value of the claim amounts to 10000 euros.
it happens quite often actually, and sometimes even holds a high potential for entertainment, especially when german pseudo-gangster-rappers sue senior citizens for royalty payments or people who prove they’ve been on holidays at the time the copyright infringement took place, and are indeed granted those payments.
you are so hilarious!!
lol
you’re always getting into some sort of unintended mischief!

Since you’re now a Mac person, may I suggest that you consider purchasing an Apple “Time Capsule” which is a combination wireless base station and remote hard-drive backup device. Apple base stations are very easy to set-up (it’s pretty much all automated), so you can avoid the 4 AM stuff, and the backup capability (it’s built into Mac OSX and is called “Time Machine”) is really neat — it backs up each version of each file, and lets you find your backups by date using a neat, graphical interface. As a bonus, Time Capsules are 802.11n, as is your Mac, which is probably faster than your existing base station.
P.S. Really love the blog.
<<<<< looking from side to side . . . . wondering how the response from TSS fits into the discussion . . . . . . . still stumped.
I am glad you shared this topic with us. My connection isn’t secure either. I just didn’t have a clue what to do to fix it. Thanks Cynicism for giving the tip.
^^ same here…we should feel sorry for the douche that has nothing better to do that is TSS.
no doubt their response will be something along the lines of me having nothing better to do than read gossip blogs, but i come here because i enjoy reading this stuff and dont feel the need to post pointless comments to make myself feel better. ;)
