Drew Barrymore is a mom now, which means she’s really “calmed down” with her wild ways and as she prepares for baby number two, she’s had a revelation: maybe she should stop talking about sex so much publicly and keep things a bit more low key. That apparently makes her a “prude”, in her own eyes, but whatever.
From Marie Claire:
“I’m so weary of the modern world… I don’t want to talk about sex anymore. I used to be so open.
“But now people are like, ‘Let’s explore our sexuality!’ And I’m like, ‘Let’s not!’ I’m such a prude these days.”
HA! I mean, I do think some things are better kept between friends and partners, but then again, I guess I actually am prudish in that way. I don’t think sex needs to be discussed in interviews and whatnot unless it’s relevant to the subject at hand. Then again, I also don’t think we should be all hush-hush and afraid to acknowledge it. There has to be a heavy medium, but some people just overdo it (looking at you, Miley Cyrus and the like). I don’t know fully how I feel about this – I’M NOT PERFECT, PEOPLE.
In any case, Drew also talked about her unconventional childhood, saying:
“When I was a kid, everything was so unplanned. My parents were so erratic and my world was so inconsistent.”I was 14 when I moved into my own apartment. I was so scared. I didn’t know anything. I didn’t know you had to throw food out when it rotted in the fridge. I was convinced someone was going to crawl through my window.”
It’s a shame, really, that she grew up like that – and a miracle she’s managed to get her shit together despite it all and still turn out okay.
