Paul Walker tragically passed away last weekend after the Porsche he was riding in burst into flames, killing himself and the other passenger. While plenty of celebrities have voiced their condolences following his death, perhaps none is more slightly confusing than that of Wu Tang member RZA, who actually wrote a song called ‘Destiny Bends’ which he posted on Soundcloud yesterday.
Of course, after looking into it, Paul and RZA apparently struck up a friendship while on the set of the upcoming movie Brick Mansions, which makes slightly more sense. Here’s what RZA had to say about Paul:
“I want to dedicate this song to my friend, Paul Walker. Up in the studio last night, writing for myself, I decided to write a song for you. Peace, brother.”
“I only knew him personally for less than a year, but we knew each other through our work and art. We saw in each other a kindred spirit of men coming from unlikely circumstances, and rising to be the light and beacon of our family and loved ones. Men who learned the joy and pains of love in life and success, while coming to realize that nothing is more important than family, friendship, and the brotherhood of humanity.”
