When you think of Ivy League university academics and great minds, the first person who probably pops into your head is Kanye West, right? Well, I’m glad that’s the case, because Yeezus himself turned up at Harvard University to talk about architecture and design this week at a surprise lecture. You see, given that he owns DONDA, his own design company, and is totally involved in every aspect of running it every day even though he’s on tour and has an infant and is never really around, he’s an expert now, so let’s all listen in on some of his wonderful thoughts:
If you’re at work or just can’t be bothered to press play, here are some choice quotes:
“I really do believe that the world can be saved through design, and everything needs to actually be ‘architected’.
“And this is the reason why even some of the first DONDA employees were architects that started designing T-shirts instead of buildings. But just to see the work actually be actualised.”
“I believe that utopia is actually possible. But we’re led by the least noble, the least dignified, the least tasteful, the dumbest, and the most political.”
In a way, Kanye has a point – we are led by the dumbest and “most political”… that’s called “government”, Kanye, and is the cornerstone of society in most countries. It also provides protection for all the bullshit you get up to, so I wouldn’t be pointing fingers so quickly.
Harvard students, I hope you enjoyed spending $40k in tuition a year to see Kanye West in your classroom, rambling his bullshit for five minutes.
chile ….sit that midget azz down ….
ya’ll done lost yo’ mind….
Wonder if they were laughing with or at Kanye. Sometimes smart people lack common sense – definitely the case with Kanye, who’s delusional as well.
Is that so, Kanye?
