I’m pretty stoked for Lily Allen‘s new album that’s coming out next year, but everyone is sorta wondering what it’s going to be like since she’s been out of the spotlight for so long and she has kids now. A lot of times, musicians get a bit soft/shit after they have kids, but Lily has promised that’s not the case. Apparently her musical tastes haven’t changed at all and actually, the new record will be “empowering” for women.
From Hello! magazine (via DS):
“It’s not an earnest, ‘I’m a mom’, kind of record. It’s empowering. There’s some feminist vibes going on,” Allen told Hello! magazine.
“It’s the same old me with a bit of swearing going on. Good choruses, key changes here and there – that’s it.”
On juggling her career with motherhood, she added: “It’s hard. I’m constantly trying to get the balance right. I always just want to get home to put my little girls to bed. It doesn’t always happen but I’m very blessed to be able to do what I do.
“I need to go on holidays before the next couple of years of work kick in. I need to spend time with my girlies and my husband and get my head down. It’s exciting, but I’m still nervous.”
Well, fair enough. I can’t wait to hear her new stuff – her first to albums are amazing!
Yay! Alright… Still was a really good album. It still holds up all these years later, I can’t wait. It’s Not Me It’s You also grew on me. I think It’s Not Fair is a really good song about sex.
Two not to
THANK GOD SHE’S BACK
