Breaking Bad has three more episodes to go before it is gone forever. FOREVER. No more new episodes of Breaking Bad. No more new episodes of watching Walter White quietly intimidate someone while Jesse overreacts and ruins everything. No more chances for you to steal a copy of the script. No more reasons for Bryan Cranston to tell us about his real-life murder plans.
But then, hope. Light. Love.
The plans for a Breaking Bad spinoff, Better Call Saul, are in place. It looks like it is going to happen. It’s a real project!
From The Hollywood Reporter:
After several weeks of heated negotiations, the basic cable network has inked a licensing agreement with Sony Pictures Television for the series’ next iteration. “As conceived, the new series is based on the show’s popular Saul Goodman character with the working title Better Call Saul,” the studio and network confirmed in a joint statement, adding: “plans call for Saul to be a one-hour prequel that will focus on the evolution of the popular Saul Goodman character before he ever became Walter White’s lawyer.”
Don’t worry. Bob Odenkirk will be back as Saul, and BB creator Vince Gilligan will be involved as will BB writer-producer Peter Gould.
Netflix was totally ready to sweep up this bad boy if AMC didn’t want it. But then AMC realized, “Oh wait, Mad Men is ending in 2014 and without that and Breaking Bad we’re gonna have to convince, like, a billion people to love The Walking Dead or we’re screwed. So yeah, we’ll take the spinoff.”
‘Till then, amuse yourself with Saul Goodman’s website, and discuss Breaking Bad right here. HOW IS IT ALL GOING TO END??? Thoughts?
