It has been a LONG and STRESSFUL and generally pretty awful week for me, and I am so excited that the weekend is finally here!
My BFF from Los Angeles, the gorgeous, brilliant and amazing Ms. Shannon, is in the air right now on her way to come visit me in Seattle. I’m so excited to get to show her around my new home, and have a little bit of my old home here with me.
Shannon’s lifelong dream is to see Oregon. I know, I know. I tease her about it, too. But for as long as I’ve known her she’s talked about wanting to see Oregon, and she has never had a chance to visit the Pacific Northwest. So this weekend, Shannon and I are off to Oregon! We’ll be visiting Portland and then maybe head down to Eugene to check out U of O, where she’s considering attending school. I don’t know much about Oregon except for that it’s gorgeous, so if any of you locals have suggestions about things to see and do in Portland or the surrounding areas, shoot me an email at evilbeet@gmail.com.
As with any traveling weekend, posting will be slow, but I’ll be checking in periodically to keep you guys entertained. Although you probably won’t need entertainment from me, because, if early numbers are any indication, you’ll all be at your local movie theater seeing The Dark Knight. Enjoy!

I live in NC, but I have spent many, many summer weeks in gorgeous Oregon. Find the Oregon Garden, it’s somewhere north of Portland. Breathtaking.
have a safe and fun trip. don’t let the bedbugs bite!
Make sure to stop by Voodoo Doughnut, it’s open late and has the best doughnuts ever for drunken nights…or any time of day.
Voodoo Donuts, Doug Fir Lounge, Union Jacks, SHOPPING WITH NO SALES TAX. Portland RULES. Well…. except for all the homeless Meth addicts. That part kind of blows.
I’m Canadian, have never even been to B.C. but if I ever make it that far over, I will definitely go to Oregon. Oregon is what makes your country ok since they are willing to legalize or overlook everything (i.e., marijuana, euthanasia). In our opinion, it’s the closest state to Canada (politically).

While in Portland, there’s so much cool stuff. Voodoo Donuts, and Powell’s Bookstore is amazing. And the Oregon Coast is gorgeous, lots of beaches for Leo to run, and neat little towns. Have fun!
florance is the tiniest town but has some really fantastic abandoned beaches and the rivers always a good time. and I saw batman at the midnight showing last night
Anyone see Perez’z view of The Dark Knight? He should probably of went and saw Mama Mia. DK was amaaaazing
I think we’re having a fair Sat on 5th and 6th st. Might be fun. Also, I definately second Powell’s Books- you can get lost there for hours.
