Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth‘s romance is on the outs and has been for a while. After Liam was pretty much exposed for cheating on her (whether with January Jones or Emma Watson, we’re not sure and it doesn’t matter), Miley told everyone to shut up and wait for her music and also swore that her wedding isn’t called off. Then it seemed like it was. Now we don’t know, but a “friend” has assured E! Online that Miley and Liam are trying to work their shit out.
“[Miley and Liam] have been a bit rocky, but are not giving up,” says a source. “They both want it to work.”
Liam, currently vacationing in Australia with family while Miley remains in L.A., is expected to return to the States within the next several days.
Reps for Liam and Miley have yet to comment. Then again, the singer-actress did tweet just last week that she’s “not discussing anything but my music from now on.”
Liam just bought a house in Australia, which sort of furthers the idea that they’ve split for good but it doesn’t really, because rich people buy houses all over the world, duh. In any case, they’re both really young and have been together on and off for a while, so if it really is over, it’s sad for them but ultimately was sort of expected. It’s hard to know yourself and what you want for the rest of your life when you’re in your early 20s (and for some people, even in their late 20s, 30s, 40s…) so having a relationship last through all that would be a bit of a miracle without the Hollywood aspect. With it? Pffft, fat chance.
It takes someone who is on the other side of young love and on this side of realilty to realize this. But the fact that kids will always keep trying to make these things work just proves that there will always be “hope” trying to win out over “experience” and hope keeps hanging in there. Still gotta love hope, tho.
Sometimes it does work out, though. I married the person I’ve been with since high school. We went on our first date when we were 15, and we’re 26 now, and in no danger if ever leaving each other. While we did have a rocky six months after high school, we worked it out and never looked back. So I don’t think young love ALWAYS fails personally, though celeb love usually fails in general so theres that too.
