Kate Winslet has had a few relationships go awry in her time, but who hasn’t? Now she’s married to some Ned Rocknroll bro, and while it may seem like any man with that name is probably not capable of going the distance, Kate has learned a lot over the years and she’s sure now she can make it work.
From Harper’s Bazaar:
“I’ve really learnt a great deal about myself, in the last four years in particular,” she said. “I think I can see more clearly now – about how the pattern of past experiences has shaped who I am, and the characters I have played – and I’m grateful for that.
“I have so much more material to draw on for work – rubble, bricks – and I know I can carry it now. I’m not going to drop it, and if I do, I’ll sift through it. Does that make any sense at all?”
I don’t really understand the rubble and bricks analogy, but she’s so pretty, it kind of doesn’t matter. Also, I love when actors get all navel-gazey and think they’re saying something really profound. Like, hello, we’re all shaped by our experiences. It’s called being a human being. I hate to snark on Kate because I absolutely adore her, it just gives me a little chuckle whenever people get so artsy fartsy about their own existences.
Check out a few of the shots from Kate’s Harper’s Bazaar cover below.
She is a beautiful woman (with a capital W) – fantastic actress, not super-skinny — she’s the real deal. she looks fucking fantastic on that cover.
The rubble and bricks refer to life experiences she can draw on to create characters. It has nothing to do with love.
I agree. Most of us have to sift through the kitty litter of life, however.
