You guys were very interested in my post on Jon & Kate Plus Eight. And I have to say I read every single comment, and was SO excited to have other people weigh in on this show. I love you guys so much! You always make my day.

In addition to the comments, I got lots of emails, and a lot of you mentioned that Madelyn Gosselin is a holy terror. Honestly, she reminds me a lot of myself at the age of seven (my mother will confirm this). Oh, who am I kidding, she reminds me a lot of myself now. She’s such a superstar.

But several of you mentioned in emails that Madelyn is the kind of character who will end up on my website one of these days.

Nothing would please me more!!!

So … how is Madelyn going to end up on my website?

She’s seven years old. So, she could date Celine Dion’s little boy; he’s seven. Maddox Jolie-Pitt is almost seven, so he’s fair game, too. Or will she end up being partners in crime with Apple Martin, flipping their hair on red carpets across the world? Perhaps she and Cara will totally rebel and do their own reality TV show?

  • I watched this show because I thought Kate was sort of MILFy and then became fascinated with her narcissitic personality disorder and the pussy-whipped passive-aggression of Jon. So I did some background, and it turns out before the show, they had pretty much driven the entire state of PA insane with their whining for freebies, even though by all accounts Kate (as a nurse) bullshat her way into the fertitlity drugs by claiming a medical condition she doesn’t have, but knew how to fake. Anyway, this link is a blog chain from 2005 where people from the county basically rip the family a new one. In the middle, Jon himself weighs in with his own dose of estrogen.

  • I love this show! Madelyn is a typical Alpha female. She was in the first batch of multiples, and she’s running the whole shebang. She may pimp somebody, but she will always be in control. LOL

  • I am sure many people would love to know the real deal on this family. The fact is, Kate is as nasty and self-centered as she shows herself to be on the show. She has even treated her family like garbage, and has disowned her mother and father, and pretty much everyone else in the family except for her little bro Kevin. Apparently Kate didn’t get enough freebies from her parents and their church so that was reason enough for her to ditch them. She is an awful, hideous person who needs to honestly sit herself down and ask herself WHY she and her husband are exploiting their children. Whether it is for the free tummy tuck or boob job or hair plugs for Jon or teeth whitening for both – obviously all these freebies have put stars in their eyes and evil in their hearts. Just watch the show for two seconds and you will see the nastiness that they spew forth. I fear for these children, I really do.

  • I’m just saddened by the fact that these people felt they needed to bring MORE children into the world and ended up with 6 all at once, through unnatural means. Why not adopt? And then to parade this “miracle” on television to satisfy their own narcissitic and monitary needs is horrific. These kids already have it difficult, and then to document their lives on television will screw them up even more. And can’t that woman lay off the Purell?! Those children probably don’t even know how to wash their hands! It’s disgusting. Just disgusting.

  • Personally I feel sorry for these kids being robbed of the simple joys of childhood because their mom is so narotic about keeping them “picture perfect” all the time in their clothes. I feel sorry for them never knowing the joy of dripping popsicles and icecream, blowing bubbles in their chocolate milk, playing in sand boxes or making mudpies, jumping in puddles after the rain, finger painting etc… She’s not doing them any favors just because she has six that are turning 4. She should get them all art smocks if she’s worried about their clothes and then they could do more.
    It also drives me nuts that Maddy smacks the little ones and throws her fits but she’s never made accountable on the show while the other kids would be. They said in one show they think it is jealousy issues, but I think part of it is just bad attitude completely. They obviously don’t spank their children or this type of behavior would not be so recurring. Their “one size fits all” approach is “time out” for all the kids- that will only go so far it is going to be ineffective when the older ones turn 8.. then what??!
    I feel for these kids. I wonder how much teasing the older ones get in school for this show and how they are going to feel as teenagers when they realize every aspect of their lives were put on display for the entire world to watch on TV- including potty training. How embarrassing! Talk about some screaming and “how could you” type shouting matches!!

  • Mady is a brat, and a drama queen. But she does have a soft side. I like all the kids, but I really really dislike Kate, no matter how much I try to like her. I want to see how these kids are in the future. I have a feeling that pretty soon people are going to start finding dirt about this family.

  • I think mady is adorable. She is a drama queen but so are most kids her age . I think they are doing well for having to grow up on television. Mady isn’t that bad. She does have rules and its not like shes 100% spoiled . Shes probably my favourite kid because shes reallly funny and cute and she has such a funny attitude. I couldn’t watchthe show without mady in it. And i think Brooklyn Beckham (Posh and david’s son) would be good for her. When shes old enough to date ofcourse ;).

  • Maddy is just like her mother, NOT enjoyable to watch. Kate is very accepting of Maddy’s poor attitude, because they are alike.

  • well i can kind of understand where mady gets her attitude from. Being one of the oldest of 8 you dont get very much attention. i myself am the oldest of 3 and although i probably get more attention then mady, i sometimes hate being the oldest. so GET OFF MADY’S BACK!!! she’s seven!

  • I’m delighted that TLC has decided to produce so many nice family-friendly shows.. I like the vast majority of them. The “Duggers” needs a new producer.. the show is lacking charm and definitely focus.. “Jon & Kate Plus 8” is a ermarkable show.. I just saw the Nov 08 Good House Keeping Gosselin story..The pics are excellent, as was the episode concerning that magazine shoot. Cara is abolutely adorable. Mady is seriously emotionally unbalanced.. sure hope her parents do the right thing and deal with it very directly.. thats a timebomb folks.

  • Mady is our favourite. I began watching the show about 6 months ago and even my husband watches now. We adore Mady’s spirit. Sure she is a handful, but she just wants attention and some control. All that energy would be better channeled into performance like drama or music. Maybe we are weird, but her antics crack us up. The pouting, the arm crossing and sighing, the door slamming. Makes for some great comedy, at least on TV. My husband and I even egg each other on to “Do Mady!” when we are faux-pissed off at something; makes for some good laughs. However, there is a very sensitive sweet side to Mady too. I think she feels alot and she loves animals so much. She is cool.

  • madi Says it exactly right. Mady has a very sweet and sensitive side, that many would not see if they only watch what is published. The least paid attention to, and very independently cute. She will date the hottest hunk about 2 years older than her when she is 16. Move over Miley!!!

    amazing. Jon and Kate are wonderful parents as a matter of
    fact, I like all of them. Asta, you’re an asshole for wishing death
    upon children so you need to fuck off and stop talking shit.

  • I think Mady’s a good kid. Sure shes a drama queen and has diva moments but shes just a kid. I was just like that when I was little- always needing to be in control. Mady’s just fine; people should stop bashing her, shes only like 8 for gods sake. And when shes older she could date Maddox- that would be cute :)

  • Mady’s definitely gonna need to “retrieve” all the dvd’s of her latest dental appointment if she ever wants a date. LOL That was just disgusting. I can see some rival of hers in high school popping that dvd in for a potential prom date and saying, “You really wanna kiss that mouth? ”

    I don’t see how they can be fixed. Even her mother seemed doubtful that the dentist can fix that horrid mouth, as she repeated SEVERAL times on the couch. Mady’s dad made fun of her, too. Poor kid. But, hey, she can only blame her parents for showing it to the world! I don’t know if this was worse than Kate calling Mady’s behavior “ugly” and not wanting it to “rub off on the others,” when they were in Hawaii. Eh, but Mady got revenge. Kate, in the chapel, said, “Mady wants to be my Maid of Honor!” To which Mady replied (and I’m SO glad the cameras got this) “WANTED?! I don’t WANT to be your maid of honor!” Hehehehehe!!!! I hope that girl grows up and gets rich on revenge. I figure Jon and Kate took her childhood dignity, they need to give theirs up in their old age. I hope she takes it, too.

    But, seriously, that view of her with the plastic aparatus spreading her mangled teeth apart was awful! And unnecessary. It was like the dentist and Kate agreed beforehand to humilate the child. You gotta admit, Mady probably didn’t have any say so about showing that on a cable network.

    Sad, sad.

  • While Maddy at times can be sweet and kind there are too many times when she believes that she needs to be the star which takes away all the cute and sensitive moments. Her parents attitude regarding her “ugly” moments is more disappointing than Maddy’s behaviour though. Kate and Jon need to wake up quickly or they will have huge suprises when Maddy’s need for attention goes astray when she can’t get it in front of a camera while away from the family. There must be more to a person than coming from a reality based program and so far Maddy has not learned that.

  • Kate is a selfish pain in the ass. Anybody who even thinks about who this little girl should date should put on a Kate mask and be beaten with a rolling pin by Jon the pussy boy.

  • You know, people gripe and complain all the time about Madelyn. But walk a mile…nay, walk a STEP…in her shoes. She was already having to deal with the fact she was second (minutes younger than Cara), and now she’s having to timeshare her parents with six other kids. Add to that she’s naturally dramatic, and it’s a recipe for her being labeled a whiny brat. I personally think she’s a terrific kid who is going to break a lot of hearts one day.

    As for who she ought to “date”, I don’t put much thought into that. She’s still a baby…but I’d love to see her with Maddox one day. Oh my God can you imagine the wedding? Who takes charge in that one? Angelina or Kate? Now that’s a reality show I’d PAY to watch!!! Two Alpha females fighting and clawing at one another while their whipped hubbys (or man toy in the case of Angelina) stand back and console one another. And in the background, J&K’s 8 kids and Brangelina’s twenty-three (by then, I’m assuming, the brood will be at LEAST 23) running around and causing havoc! Great TV right there

  • I really feel this not even a subject to discuss. I feel Mady wouldn’t like to be on the email if she new what you are disscussing. If i was the parents I would make you stop that. I really think she has alot of years before she has to think about marriag, so drop it

  • I think Mady is a wonderful kid who reminds me of myself when I was younger. I agree that she needs to channel her emotions into some performing art, such as dance or acting.
    It also sucks that Mady is always getting harped on in the shows confessionals about how bad and unruly she is, and then jon and kate go and talk about how perfect cara is.

  • This child seriously appears to be bipolar. Of course the mother is too busy pimping her kids out to notice. God help her. I am sure she will be in intense therapy in a few more years. Kate should be there now for her OCD and her bipolar ways.

  • There is something very wrong with that child. The parents are just too stupid and too busy making big bucks off their kids to care. Hope they have a lot saved for her psycho intervention.

    • I just can’t wait to watch Mady’s therapy sessions on the show, or watch her in rehab. Why not? It’d draw a big audience, and if they allow their kids to be filmed on the pot, I’m sure J&K wouldn’t see a problem with it! The kid is obviously miserable and in BIG trouble. Joking aside, it breaks my heart to watch her suffering.

    If her parents didn’t put her on TV this wouldn’t happen. This is another reason this show needs to stop. People over 18 are fair game but kids should be left alone.

  • Madelyn is the most unbelievably annyoing child but who can blame her . She lives with the most unbalanced, OCD filled mother on earth. I am certain that most of these kids will be a screwed up mess when they get older due to the fact that they never get the true attention they need and their mother is much more concerned with their earning power and material objects. That message is getting through to them loud and clear no doubt. Just a completely horrible show and family!!

  • I have watched the show because my 10 year old thinks it is funny but we have now stopped her watching it. Mady is just insane. Seriously, that is the WORST child I have EVER seen. Did you see the episode where she was Mommy for the day. Talk about a bipolar control freak. And her Mom and Dad just let her keep on acting that way.
    I would NEVER let my kid act that way and if she did, we would stop that behavior immediately.
    Horrible kid with horrible manners and she CRIES ALL THE TIME!

  • I’m sorry but it has to be true this little girl has some kind of medical condition. I have 6 children and not ONE of them has ever acted as terrible as Maddy. I understand she is a child but she is also the definition of the worst kind of kid you could have! If she was my kid I would have her sent to a psych ward or shoot myself! What an effen brat.     I actually have 4-year-old quinttuplets: 3 girls, 2 boys: Jack, Colin, Olivia, Brooklyn, and Ella and and an 8 yr old daughter, Brooklyn. MY BROOKLYN HAS NEVER ACTED LIKE MADY DOES! But i do find there show very entertaining; so does Brooklyn. We live in PA and Brooklyn is in Mady and Cara’s Class. They are BFF’s (as the kids say) so i wont say much personal things i’ve seen.
    Kate is awesome and cares about me and my kids truly. Mady is obviously too angered by her siblings getting attention.
