“It’s an issue that affects so many people in my life — a lot of my close friends and some of the most influential people around me. I just want them all to be happy. It would make me so happy to see them able to live their lives and do what they want to do. After High School Musical and Hairspray, I’ve always felt embraced by the gay community, and I feel incredibly grateful and honored. think the gay audience related to my character Troy, because it really was a story of embracing who you are, no matter how different you might be, and not being afraid to show it. That’s a universal theme for everyone, but it specifically resonated with the gay community, and I felt very proud of that. … without question I had gay role models [myself]. I don’t like to live in fear about things like rumors and backlash to begin with — that’s the way I was raised — but I just can’t see what’s so wrong about being gay.”
So! Zac Efron. I dunno. I always thought, yeah, maybe he’s gay, but after reading all of this? I don’t quite think so. No, because I think that if Zac were gay, he might be the type of person to just come out with it and admit it. Isn’t that what you guys get from his comments here? Or do you think he’s sticking some toes into the gay pool, and testing the waters to see how he’d be received if he did come out as homosexual?
Either way, what a nice guy, right? Except for all that parking-in-handicapped spots thing. That’s not cool no matter what your sexual orientation is.
Nah, I just think he’s a decent guy talking openly about gay rights in a positive light, which is refreshing.
Yeah, he’s def not gay. But he still needs a woman. :)
Not thinking he’s gay but he makes a very good point: What’s wrong with being gay anyway? and why is someone’s sexuality fodder for gossip columns, when it’s something no one has any choice about? You can’t be nice without being accused.
