Because of course she did. This is what Evan Rachel Wood does—alienate people and perpetuate stereotypes (no, I don’t know if that’s what she really does as in she makes a habit of it, but that’s what she did this time, and it was pretty f-cking rude if you ask me). This is what ERW had to say on Twitter about Miley’s recent hair-chopping endeavor:
“I called it! Miley Cyrus is leaning toward gay.”
Of course, people predictably freaked out and said all sorts of things about Evan Rachel Wood and about the pot calling the kettle a lesbian or whatever else, and naturally, Evan went back to the Twitterverse and claimed that—of course, duh—people took her all wrong and that she was just kidding about the whole thing:
Ok. To be clear. I believe you should be able to joke and have a sense of humour about everything. And I hate explaining, but just to be clear, I don’t judge people on how they look. Nor do I associate a hair style with sexuality.
And then, this:
I myself am bisexual and have always ‘joked’ about Miley giving me gay vibes. Not a bad thing! Just an observation. So I ‘joked’ when she cut her hair that it supported my case. But, I am not so close minded or into stereotypes or labeling. It was a joke.
(Yes, funny joke—let’s say that someone’s of a particular sexual persuasion one way or the other BECAUSE HAIR. Come on. I have short hair. I’m not a lesbian. OR AM I, EVAN RACHEL WOOD?)
Cripes. And after all was said and done, ERW concluded with this gem:
I could (not) care less what gender she was attracted to. But don’t hate me for supporting her in whatever she chooses. It’s all fine by me.
Miley then supposedly followed Evan on Twitter, and Evan took that as a sign that Miley probably wanted to hook up (or not; maybe she’s kidding about it). Oh, and that it’s pretty much in our eye if we were offended that Evan would *jokingly* classify Miley as a lady-lover because she’s got short hair:
Now Miley Cyrus and I are friends. Let this be a lesson to all of you.
I dunno, guys. I’d say “Once an idiot, always an idiot,” but I think I’d be wasting my breath, because really, to say that would be redundant, and honestly, kind of a moot point as it were.
What a pain in the ass.
Tbh, I thought her comments about Miley were more out of jealousy; when ER cut of her hair there were a couple of comments the first day and no one talked about it again. People still talk about Miley’s hair, at least a week later.
By whining about Miley she injected herself into the situation (just like she injected herself into M. Manson’s marriage- SNAAARKKK!)and got attention.
ERW was suddenly bi too. No one has ever seen this girl with a chick/heard her talk about finding other women attractive (not even a quote on ‘wow, she is really pretty’).
Yet someone would expect she could have told it earlier since she was pretty controversial when she hooked up with Manson. If she was ashamed of it/not knowing how to tell it to the public, back then would have been a good time to tell it, because she was dating a controversial guy and no one would be weird about it. Why else hide it for so long? Was it shame or waiting for the right (PR)moment?
But no, relationship ends, (negative/controversial) attention drips away and suddenly she is bi.
I look at her Twitter every once in a while and the only thing I see is stuff about smoking pot, having sex and being bi. If you really are bi you don’t have to say that every week, it almost makes it look like she is trying to prove it. I have seen no person adressing their sexuality more than her. ‘Oh I ate a sandwich.. Wait! Did I mention I was bi?’
Her looks change dramatically between guys; Dita von Teese lookalike with Manson, right now she has the same dressingstyle as her bf. Something just isn’t right with this chick, the constant ‘controversial’ stuff she does/talks about; like an actress version of Rihanna. All talk and no game.
What a rant, sorry, but something about this chick really pisses me off xD
ERW has been “out of the closet” for awhile now.
It was a joke. Why doesn’t everyone always have to piss their pants about everything these days?
Because it’s the same old tired joke about stereotypes. That’s why. It’s not even funny, and there are people who actually get loads of shite for having hair that doesn’t conform to traditional gender roles. I get you, but there are other implications in jokes that are sometimes hard to see. In short, don’t let you the trees prevent you from seeing the forest.
I thought it was pretty funny.. & look she got a friend out of it..
i thought it was pretty funny too and i am bi, and have had the same haircut and same things said about me. and you know what? i thought it was funny. i would have said the same thing. Geez peeps, get your panties out of a wad.
meh
agreed.
ERW is not wrong. I predict Miley’s marriage never happens, she has a breakdown (or vice versa), and then comes out as bisexual. She makes out with girls!
um really? hahahahahahah evan rachel wood is a bad ass, and i’m not a fan of miley, but she’s cool in her own special way, so whatever. i think everyone has a huge pole up their ass. we choose celeb sides, and we aren’t even their friends. miley is a country star/pop princess and she got a grunge/punk haircut. it just seems a little, no really stupid. and that particular haircut looks a LITTLE dikey, pixie cuts and other short hair cuts don’t! not at all. i just think this whole thing is hilarious. hahahahah
Just so you know, if you aren’t queer, your opinion doesn’t matter on this issue. Sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up.
ERW is queer. She gets to joke about sexuality issues.
You don’t get to have an opinion, and since you are SO OFFENDED AT THE IDEA THAT SOMEONE MIGHT THINK YOU ARE A LESBIAN, it’s pretty fucking obvious you aren’t queer.
You’re an ass.
