Quotables: January Jones Isn’t Who You Thought She Was

“…One of the worst moments in my entire life. It was an audition for Coyote Ugly, my second audition ever. I’d done the reading for the acting part and then Jerry Bruckheimer wanted me to come in and dance… on top of the table. Yes. They said, ‘You’re going to dance to Prince’s Kiss. You’re going to pole dance, but there is no pole.’ And I just turned beet red. It was awful, and he said something like, ‘Honey, you did a great reading, but you’ve got no rhythm.’ I called my agent and said, ‘I don’t want to do this anymore’.”

Oh no. January Jones was rejected for something in Hollywood. I just can’t imagine what that’s got to be like. I mean, it almost never happens. It’s not like there are tons and tons of actors and actresses all over LA and New York, trying to get a piece of that pie and hearing rejection notice after rejection notice. Gosh. She must have been just devastated that her career didn’t skyrocket after one audition as a f-cking extra.

You know what, January? Go on and talk to Jessica Biel, girl. She’s apparently in the same boat as you. The big difference, though, between you and Biel? Even though she’s a total pain in the ass, she’s almost likable. I hear she has friends. And above all? She’s got twelve whole pages here on Evil Beet dedicated to what she’s doing in Hollywood as opposed to your measly three. Take the hint, girl. Go away.

  • I really don’t understand your reaction to this. She’s telling a story about when she first started out and a situation in which she was embarrassed (which makes everyone – fortunate or not – want to quit sometimes), and she sounds pretty self-deprecating to me.

  • I am one of the first people to admit I do not like January Jones. That being said, there was absolutely nothing wrong with her quote. She wasn’t acting like a victim or expressing disbelief that she did not get the role. As Harriet Meadow said, she only recalled a moment in the beginning of her career in which she felt embarrassed and momentarily defeated (something that many people can relate to). Sarah, for a while now I’ve found your posts unnecessarily snarky and mean-spirited. Maybe it’s time to take a chill pill.

  • Sarha,
How sad you are… Your reaction to January’s totally harmless story is stupid. And you have a history with January? Maybe in your imagination. Sorry girl, you are lame.

    Janie

  • For some reason I really dislike January, sorry. I have the same thing with Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Aniston (both too desperate for attention and trying to be funny and hot) and Gwyneth Paltrow (just as January comes of very snotty and superbitchy, always feeling better than others).

Tbh, I really have no idea where I got the idea that any of the above women is really like the idea I have of them, but still. Think the writer of this site probably has the same. Sometimes you just go MEH when you see someone, for whatever reason.

  • Oh no! Sarah was kind of mean to a celebrity who will probably never read this post but will continue to get paid thousands of dollars for doing virtually nothing.

I still find you hilarious Sarah.
