Its been nearly 30 years since the original Happy Gilmore stole the hearts of frat boys everywhere. Now there’s word Adam Sandler has a sequel in the works.
Christopher McDonald, who starred as Shooter McGavin in the 1996 flick alongside the 57-year-old comedian, revealed that a script already exists.
During his appearance on Friday’s episode of The Ken Carman Show with Anthony Lima, McDonald revealed that he recently ran into Sandler, who unexpectedly showed him a first draft of the long-awaited sequel.
‘I saw Adam [Sandler] about two weeks ago, and he says to me, ‘McDonald, you’re gonna love this,” McDonald said. ‘I said, ‘What?’ He says, ‘How about that,’ and he shows me the first draft of Happy Gilmore 2.’
He went on, “I don’t wanna be a liar, but he did show me that, and I thought, ‘Well, that would be awesome.’ So, it’s in the works,’ McDonald continued. ‘Fans demand it, dammit!'”
I wonder how Sandler will react to Chris letting the cat out of the bag!
