Forty years ago the world fell in love with the little monster from outer space called E.T.. Now the mechanism that made him come to life is for sale!
The model, created by Italian special effects designer Carlo Rambaldi in 1981, made up the skeleton inside E.T.. It’s made from a lightweight yet durable aluminum alloy known as “duraluminium” and has 85 mechanical movement points, including its mouth, eyes, eyelids, neck, shoulders, fingers, arms, chest and abdomen.
Rombaldi won an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.
The item is going to auction… where else? Juliens Auction House on December 17th. There will be many other Hollywood items for sale and we’ll bring you more on that later. Estimates for ET are $3 – 4,000,000!
