Stanley Kubrick’s The Shinning is one of the most iconic horror films out there and nothing tells it’s tale better than the axe that Jack used to break down the family door.
Per TMZ, GottaHaveRockandRoll auction house sold the prop axe for a whopping $175K to a big fan and “successful businessman” who beat out 12 prospective buyers.
Interestingly, the axe is made out of resin and foam, so it’s really light. I don’t understand that lol. How did it break through a door if it was foam? Whatevs…. enjoy your axe!
