Fans were crushed in 2013 when they learned the gang they grew to love in Scranton, Pa., was leaving the airwaves for good. Could redemption be on the way?
According to NBCUniversal’s content chief Susan Rovner, whenever showrunner Greg Daniels is ready to bring back the series, NBC is standing by and ready.
Daniels said that a revival wasn’t in active development earlier this year, but that he would consider it in the future.
“No but it’s not impossible,” he told Collider. “It’s not impossible for sure. I would want to be involved, and I’ve got two other shows I’m working on right now.”
The show was already a remake of a British show, so it’s not crazy to think they would stack the cast with all new cubical jockey’s, and avoid the pitfalls of many other reboots. That is, the audience is curious to see them all reunited, but not a seasons worth of forced dialogue.
A fresh cast would also allow for a whole new set up of where the office is located and what it is even they do.
I’m stoked.
