So there were a lot of hot feelings surrounding the departure of Sharon Osbourne on the CBS morning talk show, The Talk. And it seems a good number of people just had enough.
There are so many degrees to this mess… Oprah interviews Meghan and Harry. Piers Morgan barks off nonsense about not believing Meghan was ever suicidal. As a result he’s forced to resign from his British talk show, on some form of racism claim. Sharon, being a friend of Piers for years tweeted her support of him and the next day on her talk show she was, as she describes it, completely attacked without notice and made to feel like a racist herself.
There’s a LOT to unpack there. I couldn’t imagine Sharon being a racists. She seems so set in a place of love. And she’s mouthy enough that she would have certainly let something slip some time before.
After Sharon left the show there was a hyadis while the hosts and producers took a beat and tried to make sense of things.
Since returning to the air last Monday, the ratings have dropped consistently.
The ratings report for the week of April 12-16 revealed The Talk came in last place in both the Women 18-49 demographic (0.23 rating) and the Women 25-54 demographic (0.35 rating).
It ranked last among the 13 daytime programs in all ratings categories, while The View has taken advantage, up 14% from last season as of March.
