The Covid halts have hit the HGTV shows in a rocky way over the last year. For starters, the Discovery launched it’s pay streaming app and moved many of it’s beloved shows, like Property Brothers: Forever Home, over to stream to entice subscribers.
And while unlike Hollywood studios, the HGTV casts are mostly construction crews and designers, who we either approved to work during most of the last year or we able to make it work via zoom. They also began running numerous “best of” style shows where show hosts did commentary on their previous projects.
Still, many of the show just didn’t make the cut and fans feared maybe they cut some of the fat.
Now word comes that HGTV has approved three of there shows for filming right away, with hopes of airing by later in 2021.
According to Dateline the order includes 18 new hour-long episodes of Love It or List It, starring designer Hilary Farr and real estate expert David Visentin; a 13 hour-long episode sophomore season for Vacation House Rules, starring contractor and real estate expert Scott McGillivray; and 12 half-hours of Selling the Big Easy, starring New Orleans native and residential real estate expert Brittany Picolo-Ramos.
I guess you can tell I’m excited. Few things bring me pleasure like watching Hilary and David fight in their flirty and tense battles.
