If you’re not familiar with the comedy 9-5 from the 80’s it is tremendous! A classic film of three unlikely friends coming together to put an end to their perverted boss’s treatment of women. It is hysterical.
Now the threesome is coming together again when Dolly Parton guest stars on Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda’s hit show “Grace and Frankie.”
The Netflix series, which also stars Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston, focuses on the unlikely friendship of two women whose longtime husbands leave them to marry each other. The streaming giant has renewed the series for a seventh and final season.
“I’ve been trying to do ‘Grace and Frankie’ for years,” Parton, 75, told Barry Gibb and British TV host Lorraine Kelly on her UK show, “Lorraine.”
“We worked so well together on ‘9 to 5,’ it’s a crazy wonderful show,” Parton said. “We’ve been trying to write me in somehow. So when it’s safe for us to actually do a production when they’re back, I’ll probably get around to doing that.”
Tomlin also admitted she’s eager to see the COVID-19 vaccine maven on set.
“We’re always hoping that will happen,” she told Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager while on the “Today” show. “We have a great role for her this time, I think she will do it. I’m just hoping she will.”
