It’s actually a really interesting story. Two friends buy their old friend’s bike for prosperity. it’s beautiful really.
Farley’s Harley went up for auction earlier this month. The late Madison, Wisconsin native’s 1997 XLH1200 Sportster 1200 was put on auction earlier this month at liveauctioneers.com.
“Somebody once convinced my brother to buy a Harley because ‘they are cool and made in Wisconsin'” Chris Farley’s brother Tom wrote on Facebook. “He only rode it a few times around Chicago because it terrified him!”
Tom Farley later shared with reporter Karen Pilarski from Patch.com that none other than Farley’s friend David Spade, fellow cast mate on “Saturday Night Live” and co-star of “Tommy Boy,” ended up winning the auction.
Tom, who mentioned on Facebook that he actually still had the key to the motorcycle, said he was planning to send it to Spade when comedian Tim Meadows, another “SNL” cast mate of both Farley and Spade, reached out.
“He asked if I knew the owner and wanted to buy the bike off of the person. I said we both know the owner, Spade got it,” Tom Farley told Patch.
In the end, Meadows ended up buying the motorcycle from Spade, and Tom Farley said on Facebook he’ll be sending him the key.
“Either way, the bike was going to end up with a true friend,” Tom Farley wrote on Facebook Wednesday. “His whole life Chris always had the very best of friends.”
