Josh Groban has been granted a five-year restraining order against a disturbed fan.
In June, the “You Raise Me Up” singer, 39, obtained a temporary restraining order against Shawna Marie Laing who had allegedly been harassing and threatening the singer since 2011, reports TMZ.
That order has now been extended for five years until August 27, 2025 and Laing must stay at least 100 yards away from Groban, family and his girlfriend, Schuyler Helford, 29, who he has dated since 2017.
According to court documents Laing had sent Groban a slew of disturbing sexual messages and even left a package at his home in May that included a small skull and more sexually graphic handwritten notes. One of her many missives referenced Helford writing, “You wanna try honoring the home we’re going to have children in by not f–king other women in it.”
Groban met the woman in 2001 through a mutual Facebook friend and began flirting online. A date was arranged but the singer cancelled due to feeling unwell. Laing immediately began haranguing Groban, leading him to rule out ever meeting her in person.
