“We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter,” they wrote in a statement to the international child-advocacy group.
“But we know we’re the lucky ones and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as ours was.”
The duo, who are both UNICEF goodwill ambassadors, used the announcement to help raise funds for the organization.
“In celebration of the heart we know our daughter already has, we have set up a donation page to celebrate DDB’s arrival,” they said.
Along with the announcement, the couple posted a black and white photo of their fingers interlocking with their newborn’s hand.
