Look I hate the guy. HATE. But I would do this story if it was anyone else too. This isn’t picking on anyone.
So Trump is in Colorado for a rally and he’s doing his usual monologue of inner thoughts that make no sense and he starts talking about how bad the Oscars were. His chief complaint is that a South Korean film (“Parasite”) won best picture.
He says: ?“How bad were the Academy Awards this year? Did you see it? The the winner is… a movie from South Korea! What the hell was that all about? We got enough problems with South Korea with trade. On top of that, they give them best movie of the year? Was it good? I don’t know. Let’s get ‘Gone With the Wind.’ Can we get ‘Gone With the Wind’ back, please?”
Whu… where.. how does one even unpack a statement like that?
- What does the Academy Awards have to do with your trade concerns?
- You’re mad it got best picture and an 1/8 of a second later admit you didn’t see it?
- Gone With The Wind is legit my favorite movie, but “bringing back” (it’s on tv all the time, yo) an epic film that is full of old racist images and characters is NOT the best idea.
- Ya stupid
Well the distributer of Parasite, Neon, quickly issued a response.
Understandable, he can’t read.#Parasite #BestPicture #Bong2020 https://t.co/lNqGJkUrDP
