It feels silly sometimes to announce when a celeb has ‘come out’ as a member of the LGBTQ, because I feel like the world is so much more <god help me> woke to mankind’s sexual differences. But then I think of all the struggling teens who might really value the connection and I want to spread it from the roof tops.
Today it’s the quirky actor DJ Qualls, who broke on to the scene in “Road Trip” and then has since been a guest on like every show out. From “Lost” to Man in “High Castle”.
The 41-year-old actor announced the news on Twitter Saturday following his appearance on Comedy Central’s The Jim Jeffries Show.
“It is 11:20pm,” Qualls wrote. “I just came out on stage at a @jimjefferiesshow in San Diego. Yep, I’m gay. Been gay this whole time. Tired of worrying about what people would think of me. Tired of worrying about what it would do to my career.”
Bravo. Honestly. I bet you this will be the best week of his life. The LGBTQ community is incredibly supportive and welcoming and he’s about to find he’s been home all along.
