Last week execs at NBC held a five hour meeting to discuss Simon Cowell and the enviorment he has created for workers on the set of his show America’s Got Talent. Questions about whether he fires women annually to get younger ones, whether his producers complained about Gabrielle Unions “too black” hair and other concerns about the firing of Garielle and fellow judge Julianne Hough.
And despite all that happening only days ago, this week Cowell is out with Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger holding auditions for a new show he’s starting in the UK. “The X Factor: The Band,” which aims to find the next One Direction or Fifth Harmony.
Sources told Deadline “the great part of the discussion” revolved around Cowell’s “acerbic behavior” and his “overlording.”
“The ball is in NBC’s court to see if they can get Cowell to agree to make some changes to the way things are done on the show,” an insider said.
