You probably heard yesterday that Leslie Jones is leaving Saturday Night Live after 5 years in the cast. The word was she was ready to pursue film and tv projects. Now right out of the gate, we know one big project already in the making.
According to a report last night on Deadline.com, Leslie is set to host a reboot of “Supermarket Sweep”.
I got to tell you, I am not a fan. The show originally aired ABC from 1965-1967, followed by revivals on Lifetime (1990-1995) and PAX (1999-2003) and yet they still want to try it again.
The game is more or less people racing around a supermarket (duh) trying to find the most expensive items. Then highest valued cart wins. I don’t see why that’s interesting, but I suppose if anyone can do it, it’s Leslie.
No word on her other projects, but I suspect there are more than just game show reboots.
