Recently Taylor Swift has created her own petition in support of the Equality Act, a bill that has been passed by the House of Representatives, and is waiting to be brought for a vote in the Senate. The star also references the act in her new video, with an end card asking her followers to support the legislation by signing her petition.
Now we’ve learned the petition has been signed and lauded by none other than presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren.
Taylor Swift’s petition to support the Equality Act, writing “Thank you Taylor Swift for being in this fight to pass the Equality Act.”
If passed, the bill would amend the Civil Rights Act to prohibit discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity in employment, housing, public accommodations, public education, federal funding, credit, and the jury system.
