Stars showing support for Jussie Smollett after brutal attack

Around 2am on Tuesday morning, Jussie Smollett was in a Chicago Subway restaurant when he was viciously attacked by two men. Now celebrities are posting their support of the actor.

It’s indisputable that one of Jussie’s purpose-gifts is the ability to unify through love. It’s who he is. It’s what he does. His blazon of light can never – and will never – be diminished, quelled or subdued. This despicable act only shamefully reveals how deeply the diseases of hatred, inequality, racism and discrimination continue to course through our country’s veins. It’s not enough to just share about the unconscionable, heinous and deplorable acts birthed by them – we must shoulder the responsibility and honor of loving one another like never before. We MUST. For without love; we gain nothing, we live for nothing, we become nothing. Praying deeply for our brother as he heals and recovers. Fervently awaiting the moment that these vile, despicable cowards and purveyors of hate and evil are brought to a smoldering justice. Chicago PD say the ‘Empire’ star was approached by two white men ski masks who yelled “Aren’t you that f***ot ‘Empire’ n*****?”  before beating him badly enough to fracture a rib and cut his face. The men also reportedly put a rope around his neck and poured bleach on him.

Authorities say they’re considering it a hate crime (DUH) and are looking for the men. Lee Daniels says the entire cast will have extra security while shooting in Chicago.
