Azealia Banks told her followers she was roofied and raped Saturday night on her Instagram stories.
The New York rapper, 26, broke down in a series of posts that started with the message ‘Lowkey just got raped. I feel like dirt’.
In a long series of videos filmed in the dark she sobbed as she recalled how she was pressured into having sex.
Although she has since deleted the posts, a third party grabbed the videos and posted them on YouTube.
‘I just feel so dirty and stupid right now, you know? We were just hanging out and one thing led to another. I just feel really dumb, because it was partially my fault… I’m just like sitting here like feeling f****** low and s***… I just want to f****** disappear right now.
‘I just feel really bad. I don’t think I’m going to be putting out more music…Like I just want to take some time…and figure out what just happened’.
‘You don’t really realize it like this rape s***. Men can just prey on you and f****** like badger you, force you to say yes… to the point where you feel like you gave consent but you didn’t give s***. You never wanted to do s*** and you’re just there feeling f****** powerless. Someone really just got the f****** best of me,’ she said.
Shocked with the assault she said she wanted to take down her social media and quit music.
‘I’m gonna take down all of my accounts because I’m just like embarrassed. I just feel like really broken down and feel like rebuilding myself as an artist. I don’t know how to face y’all,’ she said.
She then pleaded for her followers to call her friends or manager to pick her up and be with her.
She later returned to Instagram with the message: ‘I’m awake and walking y’all!! I’m good!! Like I said..It takes a lot to take this elephant down!! Show is still on for tomorrow..see y’all then!!!’
‘What is even in a roofie? I’ve never felt that type of intoxication in my life. I woke up my throat was in pins and needles,’ she added.
