I enjoy Joel McHale. The E! Network pulled the fantastic “The Soup” in the ongoing effort to be nothing but Kardashian network, and I was so disappointed.
Titled “The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale,” the show will be a half-hour topical series that will skewer the latest events in pop culture and news from across the globe. It will feature celebrity guests, comedy sketches, and video clips from the worldwide realms of TV, sports, politics, celebrity culture, and every corner of the internet. The 13-episode first season launches globally Feb. 18 with new episodes dropping every week.
The announcement also continues Netflix’s push into talk show fare. The streamer previously aired the show “Chelsea,” hosted by Chelsea Handler, which recently ended after two seasons. Netflix also recently launched the David Letterman-hosted series “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction.”
