Rock ‘n’ roll royals Sting and Trudie Styler landed a buyer for their comfortably plush and vividly sophisticated duplex at the limestone-clad 15 Central Park West complex in New York City, N.Y. they hoisted on the market not quite six months ago with a mountain of publicity and an eye-catching $56 million price tag. According to the New York Post, the sale price is rumored to be $50 million and the as-yet unidentified mystery buyer, who will not close on the deal until after the first of the year, is said to be foreign.
Though the reported sale price is notably below the sky-high asking price, the lucky couple, who own significant homes around the world, will nonetheless just about double their money on the 5,417-square-foot condo they bought, per public records, in 2008 for $26.5 million. The two-floor condo was custom designed for the couple by acclaimed architect Lee F. Mindel of Shelton Mindel & Associates with three and potentially four bedrooms and four full and two half bathrooms.
