Shia LaBeouf said his tirade against Savannah police officers was a “new low” in an apology he released Wednesday night on Twitter.
The actor said he was “deeply ashamed” of his profane rant against the officers last weekend as they were attempting to detain him.
“The severity of my behavior is not lost on me,” LaBeouf said in a statement.
“I am certain that my actions warrant a sincere apology to the arresting officers, and I am grateful for their restraint.”
LaBeouf also went on to address his pattern of issues with police and his struggle with addiction.
“My outright disrespect for authority is problematic to say the least, and completely destructive to say the worst,” he wrote.
“I am actively taking steps toward securing my sobriety and hope I can be forgiven for my mistakes.”
The original video of Shia is so cringy I just can’t even watch it a sixth time.
