I didn’t really see a problem with Jerry Seinfeld not wanting to hug a crazy looking stranger that ran up on him during an interview at a charity event, but the people demanded he explain his actions.
“I don’t hug a total stranger,” he told “Extra” of his decision to deny Kesha a hug during a red-carpet interview this week. “I have to meet someone, say hello, I gotta start somewhere.”
Seinfeld was being interviewed before the National Night of Laughter and Song event at the Kennedy Center when the singer-turned-fangirl interrupted his interview and asked for a hug.
He shut her down with a simple, “No thanks.”
Looking back on the awkward situation, Seinfeld recalled, “I was right in the middle of an interview, it was a little off.”
The comedian also chalked the snafu up to age for not knowing the singer.
“I’m 63, I don’t know every pop star, I don’t know everyone,” he said of the 30-year-old.
