Martin Short and Nathan Fillion will both have story arcs in the upcoming 8th season of Modern Family. Both actors are coming off of cancelled series’, although Fillion’s “Castle” was far more successful than that of Short’s partial season of “Mulroney”.
Shorts role is yet to be known, but Fillion will play a weatherman aptly Rainer Shine who finds himself sucked into the shenanigans of the Dunphy family that we all love so well.
Short also has a project coming up in which he’ll star in NBC’s “Hairspray Live!”. The show is part of the ongoing trend of putting broadway on television.
Modern Family returns Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
