Not since peanut butter & jelly have two things gone together better than Mariah Carey & Christmas, right? Not only was her Christmas album the soundtrack to most of our mid-’90s and beyond, but now she’s actually directing a Christmas movie! If that wasn’t amazing enough, Lacey Chabert is in the movie, and I think we all remember when the Plastics choreographed their talent show dance to “Jingle Bell Rock”, right?! (It should have been “All I Want For Christmas (Is You)”.)

Our Mariah people say she started working on “A Christmas Melody” Tuesday and made herself right at home in the director’s chair. We’re told Mariah had only one request, her favorite actress from her favorite movie star in the flick. Let’s be serious … she had more than one request.
Lacey Chabert, who played Gretchen Weiners in “Mean Girls” was more than happy to take the lead.
Mariah won’t appear in the movie but we’re told her music is featured throughout.
As if the Christmas season wasn’t already bright enough! This is wonderful news and I love it. Also, of course her music is going to feature heavily throughout – wouldn’t have it any other way! I have no idea what channel this is coming on or when, but best believe I’ll be keeping my eye on it.
