Well, this is pretty awful. We all love Law & Order in all of its incarnations (SVU is the best, though, obviously) and have watched every episode about 100 times. That has little to do with anything, but it came to mind upon hearing the news that L&O director Jason “Jace” Alexander has been arrested on charges of child pornography.
From People:
Westchester Country District Attorney, Janet DiFiore, announced in a statement on Wednesday that Alexander has been charged with one felony count of promoting a sexual performance by a child and one felony count of possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child.
“On July 24, 2015, an investigator from the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office downloaded child pornography from an IP (internet protocol) address in Westchester County. The District Attorney’s Office began its investigation and pursuant to a subpoena, it was determined that the IP address was assigned to the defendant’s home. A search warrant was subsequently executed at the defendant’s home address,” the statement read.
According to DiFiore, a forensic examination of computers and external hard drives turned up digital files of children under 16 engaged in acts of pornography.
The 51-year-old was released on $10k bail and is due back in court in November. He worked on Law & Order from 1994 to 2005 and has also done eps of Rescue Me and The Practice, among others.
