Rebel Wilson may have found herself in the midst of another controversy (the most recent one being “how old is Rebel Wilson?”, in case you’re keeping track.) Apparently Ms. Wilson “doesn’t like getting political” but she dipped a toe into the great gun debate, so here we are. And I’m curious to see where you guys stand on this.
As most celebs do, Ms. Wilson took to Twitter to express her opinions. This time she’s commenting on the recent shooting in Lafayette, Louisiana, in which a lone gunman opened fire on movie theater goers. Here’s what she tweeted:
I don’t like getting political but America you really have to follow Australia’s example re gun laws.

I don’t remember a mass shooting in Australia since they overhauled the gun laws. It seems like every week in America there’s a shooting. — Rebel Wilson (@RebelWilson) July 24, 2015
I just want people to be safe, especially people that are doing one of my favorite things in the WORLD – going out to the movies 2 have fun.

I totally understand where she’s coming from, though the reasoning seems a bit skewed?
BUT. What do you guys think?
I think celebs should really.just.not. Love you, Rebel! Bad idea!
I mean a bad idea to get into it online about gun control. Like I am totally not.
Like all celebrities, she thinks people want to hear her opinion, and like all celebrities, the public wishes she’d shut up.
Stick to acting, not commenting on things you claim you don’t like to get political about.
Ditto. I’m especially not interested in the political opinions of foreign celebrities.
Her opinion is referencing the changes made to Australian gun control after the Port Arthur massacre.
Just because someone is a celebrity doesn’t mean they aren’t entitled to their own opinions about political issues; it’s the responsibility of the public to not be swayed by the opinions of celebrities and politicians alike and decide for themselves.
Agree with Rebel, and there’s nothing wrong with her saying that, it’s just stating the obvious. America needs to change their gun policy as ‘the right to bear arms’ argument is just killing innocent people.
Bobbie Kristina died. You heard it here first, folks:

Oh no that poor kid, Muttley
I think Ms. Wilson has a bit of a problem herself. She’s morbidly obese. Her judgement in making herself so fat, and unhealthy is obviously way off right? Right? Forget gun control, how about some self-control? If guns are outlawed, the only people who have guns will be outlaws. P.S. Who the hell is Rebel Wilson?
I agree with Rebel and it’s not hurting anyone for her to state her opinion. Take it or leave it as you will. There is no reason to attack her appearance just because you happen to disagree with her opinion.
