Princess Charlotte, the latest royal baby, was christened last weekend in Norfolk in front of a crowd of thousands, and while we’ve seen photos from the ceremony, it wasn’t until yesterday that Kensington Palace released the official portraits from the event, which were shot by Mario Testino.
I have to say, I think the pictures are nice – Kate Middleton looks beautiful as usual, Prince George is cute as a button, Prince William is still bald… but I agree with this op-ed I read this morning in The Guardian that said these royal portraits are all a little stuffy. I mean, of course, they’re royalty, so everything is going to be prim and proper, but we know they’re regular people and everything isn’t as perfect as it seems, so they should be willing to show that. The public already loves them, for the most part, so it’s not like it would harm them.
Anyway, here are a few others!
