Earlier this year, Bruce Jenner caused a fatal accident while driving in Los Angeles that killed a 69-year-old woman and seriously injured five others. He’s never really taken responsibility for the whole thing, and the stepchildren of the woman who died (who was named Kimberley Howe, for reference) filed a wrongful death lawsuit against him – a lawsuit he wants dropped.
From People:
Bruce Jenner has filed court papers to throw out the wrongful death suit filed by the stepchildren of the woman killed in an accident in February on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California.
In early May, Howe’s two stepchildren, William Howe, 57, and Dana Redmond, 60, filed the lawsuit alleging that the impact of Jenner’s SUV “propelled” her into the other lane.
Jenner, 65, responded to the family’s suit stating they lack standing to assert a wrongful death claim because they were “not financially dependent upon the decedent for the necessities of life.” Jenner claims their family connection to the victim does not give them the right to sue for wrongful death, according to court papers obtained by PEOPLE.
I’m sure some people will bitch and moan and claim that these people are probably after money because of who he is, but not only do I not believe that, but so what if they were? Jenner caused them to lose their stepmother and should pay up because it’s the least he could do.
