Raise your hand if you’re shocked that the Duggar family is super fucked up. No one? Didn’t think so. Josh Duggar, one of the family’s 19 weirdo kids, has been charged with molesting underage girls… including his sisters. Yikes.
From TMZ:
The story was broken by In Touch Weekly, but TMZ has confirmed with law enforcement that Josh Duggar — who was around 14 at the time — was the alleged molester against 5 girls starting in 2002.
According to the police report, Josh fondled the genitals and breasts of the girls, some of whom were sleeping, but sometimes they were interacting with him … in one case reading a book.
There was another reported incident 9 months later. According to the police report, the police were not immediately contacted. Instead, Jim Bob, the dad, met with church elders and agreed Josh should be put in a treatment program. The police report says Josh’s mom, Michelle, said it wasn’t really a treatment center … they simply sent Josh to a guy who was remodeling a building to do manual labor.
In 2006, the family was scheduled to appear on “Oprah,” and before the show someone sent an email to Harpo warning that Josh had molested girls. Harpo forwarded the email to a hotline, which triggered a police investigation.
Cops wanted to question Josh, but Jim Bob lawyered him up and Josh declined the invitation.
Josh, who is now 27, apparently cannot be charged because the statute of limitations has run.
As for the Duggars, one of the family members told investigators, “this entire incident had brought the family closer to God” … this according to the police report.
Oh yeah, did I mention that the Duggar parents covered this whole thing up for YEARS? Real Christianly of them, supporting sexual assault in the name of God. But then, I suppose those values only apply when it’s convenient for them. Fuck the Duggars, and this molester. I can’t believe he’s just going to get away with it. Ugh.
And one more thing – did you know that this guy is a father? Lovely!
UPDATE: He’s apologized for his crimes.
“Twelve years ago, as a young teenager, I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret,” Duggar, now 27, said in a statement to People magazine. “I hurt others, including my family and close friends.”
“I confessed this to my parents who took several steps to help me address the situation. We spoke with the authorities where I confessed my wrongdoing, and my parents arranged for me and those affected by my actions to receive counseling. I understood that if I continued down this wrong road that I would end up ruining my life … I would do anything to go back to those teen years and take different actions. I sought forgiveness from those I had wronged and asked Christ to forgive me and come into my life. In my life today, I am so very thankful for God’s grace, mercy and redemption.”
Let us not forget, either, that his parents lied about him being in counseling and they’ve been more concerned with protecting Josh than their daughters. Fuck the Duggars.
I’m actually not all that surprised. I mean, when you talk about percentages, with 19 kids, at least one of them had to be less than perfect. Additionally, from the outside, it doesn’t appear that there are a lot of avenues for sexual exploration for children in that home. I’m not talking chains and whips but even just finding time ‘alone’ for self exploration (masturbation) would probably be difficult when you have ~20 people in one house and then throw in religion and cameras? You bottle up a young boy like that and something’s bound to happen. In addition to obviously feeling bad for the girls, I also feel bad for him and I don’t really think there’s much wrong with Jim Bob’s actions. A father handled an inappropriate situation between his son and his other children. What father wouldn’t want to keep that private? Do you think Jim Bob patted him on the back and said “Good job, son.” I highly doubt that. And then when it occurred outside of the family, a father tried to protect his son. What was he supposed to do … nail his son to the cross so that the world would agree with his actions? No. A father believed he was protecting his son and that’s all I really need to know about Jim Bob’s actions. Right or wrong, I can’t point a finger at Jim Bob, or any father, and say “You shouldn’t have done that.” So, assuming this guy isn’t evil meaning he didn’t try to manipulate his sisters into silence and intimidate them, it really, at this time, looks like a curious kid with a lack of self control. Now, obviously, that’s not great but it doesn’t exactly put a 14 year old kid in the same league as a violent rapist. If that’s case meaning he was just an overly curious teenage boy who crossed the line with similarly aged sisters then I would write it off as a phase. If he continued up until he was 20 and he specifically targeted the youngest of his sisters, then yes, Houston, we have a problem. Other than that, I think the media should tone down the rhetoric a bit until more information from this juvenile case gets leaked to the media. The guy isn’t a Saint but, from what we know, he isn’t the Devil either.
Just read another article and it looks like it ‘was’ forcible and that he was caught sneaking around their rooms. Yea, those are predatory actions and not mere odd duck behavior.
Hahaha, I came to reply about your well put original response only to end up laughing out loud at the addition you made. Thank goodness for the internet.
So you’re talking all this crap about Jim Bob wanting to protect his son, but what about his daughters?! Why did he not feel the same sense of protection for them? What about their emotional trauma? He covered this shit up to protect their image.
Considering this household is so diehard Evangelical, it wouldn’t surprise me if they somehow tried to absolve Josh of his actions and blamed it on the girls for be dressed too immodestly or whatever. This is horrific and it’s disgusting that not only they covered this up, but that you are defending the actions of a father who, while protecting his son, endangered and had no regard for the emotional well-being of his daughters.

Time for TV to stop paying white trash to be themselves and get these idiots off TV. They are “entertaining” because they are narrow-minded, backward, uneducated, god-fearing idiots that people with some form of sophistication or education find funny. Then people get upset when their true colors come out.
Any parent who covers up the victimization of a minor (or multiple in this case) even if the predator is a family member, is as bad as the predator themselves. Disgusting.
Sign of the world’s end #whatever: The Kardashians are morally superior to the Duggars.
