As we all know, Bobbi Kristina isn’t getting any better. She isn’t getting any worse, either, but the only thing “worse” than her current condition would be death, so that’s not saying much. While she’s in hospital and her family continues to struggle with how to proceed, Nick Gordon is still hanging around, begging the to see Bobbi, even though he may have had a bit to do with the reason she’s there to begin with.
In a statement given to Us Weekly on Monday, May 18, Gordon’s lawyers Randall M. Kessler and Joe S. Habachy plead his case to the Brown and Houston families, citing his “strong desire” to visit 22-year-old Bobbi Kristina, who has been in a coma since Jan. 31.
“Despite his strong desire to see Bobbi Kristina, Nick has respected the families’ wishes for over three months and has refrained from visiting or from pursuing access to her through the courts,” the statement reads. “He has asked through counsel many times privately and now asks both the Browns and the Houstons, please let him see her.”
The Browns, for their part, responded at the time with a statement from Bobby Brown‘s legal counsel Christopher Brown. “Mr. Gordon was offered an opportunity to potentially visit Bobbi Kristina but…declined to meet the terms of any possible visit,” the statement said. “Obviously Mr. Gordon is not as desperate to visit Bobbi Kristina as he wants the world to believe.”
Gordon’s attorneys, in turn, said they had “advised him not to meet” the family’s conditions. “But in an effort to do all he can to visit, Nick has repeatedly offered to meet with Mr. Brown privately to discuss his request in person, rather than through lawyers,” Randall Kessler stated at the time. “Those offers have also been rejected.”
I’m in two minds on this one. I don’t trust Nick Gordon, but unless the police have any real evidence that he was involved and/or had been abusing her, I don’t think letting him see her (supervised, obviously) would be the end of the world, especially if it gets the guy to just shut up and go away.
