Jon Hamm generally keeps a low profile. He’s handsome, he’s funny, he was on Mad Men… besides that, he sorta keeps himself to himself, which is a rarity in Hollywood and part of the reason he’s so damn likable. With that in mind, it’s no surprise that we’re, well, surprised to hear that Jon just got out of rehab for treatment for alcoholism.
Jon Hamm completed a 30-day rehab program for alcohol abuse, just days before the premiere of the last season of “Mad Men.”
We’re told Hamm checked himself into Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan, Connecticut at the end of February. It’s a high-end facility.
The final season is already in the can.
Hamm’s people tell TMZ, “With the support of his longtime partner Jennifer Westfeldt, Jon Hamm recently completed treatment for his struggle with alcohol addiction. They have asked for privacy and sensitivity going forward.”
I don’t particularly know that 3 weeks of rehab is enough to cure anyone of anything (though with addiction, there is no “cure”, just a constant effort to maintain sobriety) and rehab does tend to be pretty trendy in Hollywood, like booking yourself into an extended spa, but I’ll try to hold back with my cynicism for the moment. Good for Jon for seeking treatment for his problem – hopefully he’s feeling stronger and will be able to maintain it.
I get what you’re saying but like you said, there’s not a “cure” for his disease. 30 days of serious work and good habits seems like a good start to learn tools on how to effectively manage it. Unlike Scott Disick’s (am I the only person who always reads that as “Scott the Dick”?) tripping on acid Costa Rica vacation or whatever it was.
You are not the only person that reads it like that
