John Mayer is admitting what we all know — dude’s got an ego problem. Y’all know I’m not a fan of John Mayer, in part for this very reason. But at least he can admit it. He actually calls it an “addiction”, which is kind of problematic, but okay.
He sat down with Ronan Farrow and served up some honesty. Apparently he was on a self-imposed “interview ban”, which I did not even notice. But anyway, here’s what he said, via Daily Mail:
The singer, in a rare TV interview on Friday, described himself as a ‘recovered ego addict’ who has to protect himself from excess.
‘The only way that I can be sure that I don’t relapse is to admit that I constantly have this ego addiction — every day,’ he said. ‘So, I do the Grammys and I go home cause if I stayed, I’d get high again… You’ve already looked through Twitter, everybody goes, ‘It’s great,’ and then you’re low again because you can’t stop looking. So, I’m a recovered ego addict.’
As for whether he’s a womanizer? Mr. Mayer says,
No, absolutely not.
Okay. Well, I’ll give Mayer some credit. He’s 37 now and he’s at least acting like it. I can appreciate anyone who steps up and says, yup, I have an enormous ego. Although I guess he didn’t say that exactly, and I’m not really sure if I agree with him labeling it an “addiction”, but, you know, baby steps.
As for Twitter, he’s still got one, though he doesn’t update it frequently.

I thought he had a poop addiction! My bad. Seriously, I like some of his music and he’s obviously a very smart guy, he just can’t seem to not put his foot innit. Maybe this helps!
Nothing new here, every time I hear about this little m*r$n it’s because he’s once again tripped over his giant ego.
