Bill Cosby made a rape joke onstage and people loved it

You would expect that someone who was the center of rather heated controversy involving serious sexual abuse, rape and drugging claims – especially if that someone claims that the accusations against him are absolute bullshit – would avoid associating himself with tasteless jokes about it, right? Wrong. So, so wrong. That’s right – Bill Cosby took the stage in Ontario, Canada on Thursday night in front of a sold out crowd, and during the show he apparently joked about drugging a woman in the audience. Classy!

Richard Warnica, who attended the show, live-tweeted the whole horrible thing. Here’s his words about the event in question:

Several people were kicked out of the venue and detained for filming the arrest of a man who was pulled out for shouting “You’re a rapist!” at Cosby. Mostly, though? People fucking loved it:

Wow. Don’t worry, everyone – rape culture is TOTALLY something made up in women’s heads and not a real, fucked up thing that’s happening EVERY SINGLE DAY. An accused rapist not only avoids prosecution, but MAKES A JOKE ABOUT RAPING WOMEN in front of a crowd full of people… and gets a standing ovation for it. Well done, shitty human beings.
