Remember when Reese Witherspoon got all drunk and disorderly and had to be arrested? And then she started ranting to the cop about how she’s super famous and has rights as an American? It was one of the most fun episodes in celebrity-meets-police history, and now, over a year later, Reese is finally ready to talk about it… at the BFI Film Festival, at that:
“I think it was a moment where people realized that I wasn’t exactly what they thought I was,” she told reporters. “I guess maybe we all like to define people by the way the media presents them, and I think that I showed I have a complexity that people didn’t know about. It’s part of human nature. I made a mistake. We all make mistakes. The best you can do is say sorry and learn from it and move on.”
That’s true – we do all make mistakes and it’s no big deal. It certainly hasn’t hurt her career, that’s for sure, and most people have forgotten about it. It’s not like anyone is judging her or persecuting her, either – it’s basically just something that everyone laughs at her for, just like we all do with embarrassing things.
Also, I don’t know that getting so drunk that you become belligerent shows the world “complexity”, but uh, okay.
Duh! Like triple duh duh duh! She is talented tho..
