Somehow, Elle Fanning is already 16 years old. I swear she was just like, 6 the other day. She’s turning into a great actress and has a solid career in front of her so long as she stays out of trouble – and if she keeps her head screwed on as straight as it seems to be at the moment, I think she’ll be just fine.
She appeared on the cover of Teen Vogue‘s June/July issue and gave an adorable interview in which she talked about her approach to boys:
“Well, I want a boy to like my weird style. If he doesn’t, then he’s not the right person for me. Because if you start dressing one way and it’s not truly you, then you have to stick to it. Otherwise, you wear your weird thing and then he’s like, “What’s that?” and you’re like, “Well, I like it!” And then you are in an uncomfortable situation.”
Elle also has a natural approach to makeup:
“I just feel like it’s better, looking fresh. It’s also sexier not wearing any makeup at all. Like, honestly, if you talk to guys, they’ll all think that.”
And what can’t she live without?
“My Barbie calendar in my room. I put all the details of my day on it. And…it’s so weird, but I save gum wrappers. Like, I have thousands of Double Bubble and Bazooka. I put them all in a Chanel shoe box.”
Cute – and it’s so refreshing to see girls who are comfortable being their age. Not many 16-year-olds in Hollywood would admit that they have a Barbie calendar.
Check out the photos from the shoot below – I think she has an Elizabeth Olsen thing going on (and yes, that’s a compliment).
